๐When Desire Lands
Perhaps desire is too much like chasing a butterfly. The harder you run after it, the farther it flies. You try to get closer, you reach out your hands, you want to catch it before it disappearsโฆ and every movement only makes it escape a little farther. So you stop chasing it. You keep walking, expecting nothing, and for a moment you forget that you were ever searching. And that is precisely when it happens. The butterfly returns. Not because you caught it, but because it chose to land near you. Perhaps some things work that way. Freedom cannot be conquered by chasing it, and affection cannot be gained by trying to hold on to it. Some encounters can only happen when we stop pursuing and allow the other person the freedom to come closer. And perhaps that is where true connection lies: in discovering that what we wanted to hold onto can choose to stay.
